You start this route in the historic heart of Leiden. You will see plenty of beautiful monumental buildings along the canals. Shortly after you cross the Galgewater, you pass the Morspoort from 1669. Further on you follow the course of the Oude Rijn, where you see the Geregtigigheid, a flour mill from 1740. You drive along the edge of the dunes to Katwijk aan Zee. From the boulevard you have beautiful views of the North Sea. On the right you pass the Andreas Church from 1461. You cycle along the canal to Oegstgeest, after which you drive along the Polders Poelgeest. At junction 1 you cross the Zijl, after which you descend along the river towards Leiden. On the left you have a beautiful view of the Boterhuispolder. The route ends at the Hortus botanicus Leiden.
