Discovering the Kampina from Moergestel

Moergestel is an ideal base if you want to discover the Oisterwijkse Vennen and the adjacent Kampina. In these nature reserves you can fully enjoy Brabant nature.

Oisterwijkse Vennen
From the starting point you drive straight into the forests of the Oisterwijkse Vennen. This means letting the wheels spin while you cycle on gently sloping and winding paths between the coniferous and deciduous trees. Just after you cross the Essche Stroom, you pass Nemerlaer Castle. This building originally dates from the fourteenth century.

Helvoirts Trousers
Further on you drive a bit through Helvoirts Broek: a humid nature reserve with flowery meadows where many birds live. In villages such as Esch and Lennisheuvel you can still experience the typical Brabant friendliness, and you will also see some monumental long-facade farms. A little later you drive into the Kampina, an extensive nature reserve where you can enjoy the silence on the heath. In Moergestel you drive past the beautiful Sint Janskerk with its old tower.
