Get a breath of fresh air at the Oosterscheldekering

This route takes you over two Zeeland icons: the Zeeland Bridge and of course the Oosterscheldekering. It will be nice to get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the views over the water.

Zeeland Bridge You will soon enter Colijnsplaat. In the Voorstraat you can enjoy the historic atmosphere through the many beautiful monumental buildings. You will see the Nooitgedacht and Oude Molen, two beautiful flour mills. What a surprisingly nice place! You can see the Zeeland Bridge from a distance. This iconic bridge was completed in 1965 and has a length of five kilometers. At the harbor in Zierikzee you can see the medieval North and South Harbor gates, wow!

Haamstede Castle You pass Haamstede Castle, a national monument from the thirteenth century. You drive back to Schouwen-Duiveland via the Oosterscheldekering. You pass Neeltje Jans, the famous work island where sprinter Andre Greipel won a Tour stage in 2015. An exhibition about the Delta Works can be seen in the information center here.
