From Putten to the Veluwe

Putten is a beautiful town in the Gelderse Vallei, on the edge of the Veluwe. An ideal base if you want to make a varied bike ride through wide polders and vast forests and heathlands.

Gelderse Valley
In the Gelderse Vallei you cycle through a landscape of vast grasslands. You regularly see a characteristic farm here. At Group accommodation De Aalbertshoeve you can do a fun activity, such as klootschieten. In Ermelo you pass De Koe, a restored corn and hulling mill from 1863.

Leuvenum Forest
In the Leuvenumse Bos you immediately experience the characteristic silence of the Veluwe. You get a nice energy from this, cycling seems to go almost automatically. At the hamlet of Leuvenum you cycle through an agricultural enclave of fields and hedgerows. Further on the landscape suddenly opens up when you cycle from the forest onto the Ermelose Heide. On this rolling heathland you have beautiful views. In Putten you come across Ligtrink 2wielers, the specialist shop for repairs, rental and purchase bikes.
