Description
It is wonderful to cycle on the dikes along the Winkel and the Oude Waver. You will find plenty of natural beauty and beautiful old buildings here. Enjoy the peace, the wide grassland and the history along your route. You cycle past the Botshol nature reserve, a quiet area. Just before Nessersluis you pass Fort Waver-Amstel. This fortification from the Defense Line of Amsterdam was built between 1886 and 1911. You will also cycle along the Kromme Mijdrecht through a typical Dutch landscape of ditches and meadows. What a beautiful route this is! Further on you will pass through Loenersloot and Baambrugge: two picturesque villages where you will see many monumental houses and farms. Get off in Baambrugge at Café Restaurant De Punt! You will also discover the thirteenth-century Loenersloot Castle here.
