Cycling through the polders around Vinkeveen

Cycling along the dikes along the Winkel and the Oude Waver is wonderful. You will find plenty of natural beauty and beautiful old buildings here. Enjoy the peace, the vast grassland and the history along your route. You cycle along the Botshol nature reserve, a quiet area. Just before Nessersluis you will pass Fort Waver-Amstel. This fortification from the Defence Line of Amsterdam was built between 1886 and 1911. You will also cycle along the Kromme Mijdrecht through a typical Dutch landscape of ditches and meadows. What a beautiful route this is! Further on you will pass through Loenersloot and Baambrugge: two picturesque villages where you will see many monumental houses and farms. In Baambrugge, stop off at Café Restaurant De Punt! You will also discover the thirteenth-century Loenersloot Castle here.
