Keentse uiterwaard From the dike it is nice and quiet cycling through the floodplains. You look out over flowery grasslands and the rippling water of the Maas. Past Grave you come to Keent. In this rugged nature reserve a former Maas arm, cut off and filled in in 1938, has been dug out again and connected to the river on one side.
Batenburg Castle Cycling along the Maas you will pass the beautiful Ravenstein. Further on you will pass the protected village view of Megen. Here you will see the Gevangenpoort, a fourteenth-century gate tower that was once part of the demolished wall. On the other side of the Maas you will cycle past Wijngaard De Kleine Heerlijkheid, a nice stop. Batenburg enjoys a protected cityscape, here you will see the ruins of a medieval castle.
