Along the Nederrijn it is wonderful to make kilometers. You mainly cycle along the floodplains, where you will find peace and space. You will also pass the Gelders Narrow Gauge Railway Museum and Heimerstein Castle.

You start this route at Allurepark De Thijmse Berg, a beautiful place to stay in the middle of the woods near Rhenen. After getting on, you ride along the edge of Rhenen to the Nederrijn. You cross the river via a bridge. You have a beautiful view, in the distance you can see the 80 meter high tower of the Cunerakerk. Then you cycle over the dike along the floodplains. Enjoy a breath of fresh air, while you enjoy the peace and space!

Brickworks Randwijk
At Steenbakkerij Randwijk GSS you will find the Gelders Smalspoormuseum, but also a monumental brickworks. Here you can bake bricks in the old-fashioned way with a coal-fired ring oven. You cross the river with a ferry, after which you cycle for kilometers along the dike. You will pass, among other things, the nature reserve de Blauwe Kamer. Further on you will pass Kasteel Heimerstein. After the original castle was completely destroyed during the Battle of the Grebbeberg in 1940, it was rebuilt in 1946.
