Tour of Apeldoorn and Radio Kootwijk

The starting and ending point of this beautiful cycling route is the Rimboe and Woeste Hoogte parks. From here you cycle to Radio Kootwijk, a historic monument where you can experience the atmosphere of a century ago. On the leafy Crimean Road you drive through Hoenderloo, a village that was founded in 1839. In the Hoenderlose Bos you cycle comfortably between the trees, until suddenly the Hoog Buurlose Heide stretches out in front of you. Then you will pass Radio Kootwijk, the transmitting station that was built in the 1920s for radio telegraphic contact with the then Dutch East Indies. The area around the former transmitter and the associated hamlet is a protected villagescape due to its cultural-historical value. In Apeldoorn you can enjoy the beautiful monumental buildings.
