Tour of Apeldoorn and Radio Kootwijk

The starting and ending point of this beautiful cycle route is the park de Rimboe en de Woeste Hoogte. From here you cycle to Radio Kootwijk, a historical monument where you can experience the atmosphere of a century ago. On the leafy Krimweg you cycle through Hoenderloo, a village that was founded in 1839. In the Hoenderlose Bos you cycle between the trees, until suddenly the Hoog Buurlose Heide stretches out before you. Then you pass Radio Kootwijk, the transmitting station that was built in the twenties of the last century for radiotelegraphic contact with the then Dutch East Indies. The area around the former transmitter and the associated hamlet is considered a protected village view because of its cultural-historical value. In Apeldoorn you can enjoy the beautiful monumental buildings.
