Walking through Delft

The rich history of Delft is easy to explore on foot. This route also takes you a bit through the nature of the Bieslandse Bovenpolder.

Museum Prinsenhof
you can walk straight into the old center of Delft. Here you will pass, among other things, the sixteenth-century Rietveldse Toren and Sint-Huysbrechtstoren, two former rampart towers that stand on the Schiekanaal. The Lutheran Church at Noordeinde dates from 1407. In Museum Prinsenhof, located in the former Agatha Monastery from 1403, you can experience Dutch history through stories about William of Orange and Delft Blue, among others.

Further on you will pass the fourteenth-century Nieuwe Kerk with the mausoleum of William of Orange, a well-known attraction. Just like the Town Hall from 1620. The Oostpoort is the only remaining Delft city gate, dating from around 1400. An ideal photo opportunity, especially if you have crossed the water and are looking back. On the edge of the city you walk through the Delftse Hout. In this nature reserve you pass a combination of arboretum and local park.
