Provided by: Groots Genieten
Characteristic Delft is easy to explore by bicycle. In the countryside you drive through the equally characteristic Westland.
Seven Holes
You can cycle straight into the old center of Delft with its canals and many monumental buildings. What a wonderful historic atmosphere, you really look back in time here. In the Hoekpolder you pass the Schaapweimolen, a beautiful polder mill from 1826. Further on, at the Kromme Zweth, you pass a unique piece of nature in the Westland: the Zeven Gaten.
De Lier
De Lier is known as an epic center of greenhouse horticulture, but is also home to the monumental Lierse Dom from the fifteenth century. In the middle of the bird-rich polder you pass through the Kraaiennest, a quiet nature and recreation area. One of the lakes is a disaster storage facility, so that extra water can be temporarily stored in the event of heavy rainfall. You drive back to Delft via beautiful Schipluiden.
