Delft is a true cycling gem. In the cozy city center you will be amazed by so much cultural history. In the countryside it is nice and quiet to drive through the wide and natural polders.
Picturesque Delft
You cycle straight into the old center of Delft with its old canals, monumental buildings and characteristic atmosphere. You will pass the fourteenth-century Nieuwe Kerk with the mausoleum of William of Orange, a well-known attraction. Just like the Nieuwe Steen from 1620, the town hall that was built around the Oude Steen, a tower that is the oldest building in Delft.
Spacious polders
Delft is more than beautiful historical monuments. You leave the city via the green and water-rich Delftse Hout. A little later you drive into the forests and wet meadows of the adjacent Bieslandpolder. The water from this polder was once used by Delft breweries, but later the peat from this area disappeared into stoves. Around Pijnacker you cycle through wide polders with several forest areas. What peace you experience here!
