Description
Just take your mind off it? Then take this walk through the woods of Landgoed Middachten, on the edge of the Veluwse Stuwwal.
Estate Hagenau
The route starts at Landgoed Hagenau. This estate was purchased by Natuurmonumenten in 1911 and formed the beginning of the establishment of De Veluwezoom, the nature reserve that was declared the first national park in the Netherlands in 1930. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for charging the battery.
Star forest
In the rolling woods of Landgoed Middachten you walk between the many oaks and beeches, occasionally you also see conifers. The deeper you walk into the forest, the quieter it gets. Towards the end of your route you walk through the star forest of Hof ter Heide, an ancient estate. You walk here on wide avenues that are lined by deciduous trees. On top of the Carolinaberg is a beautiful old beech, a special place.
