Nice cycling route on Voorne-Putten

During this lovely cycling route of almost 50 kilometers on the island of Voorne-Putten, you will enjoy the natural beauty, the vast polders and the history.

Tour of Oostvoornse Meer
The route starts at Restaurant Paviljoen De Meidoorn in Rockanje, in the middle of the Voornes Duin nature reserve. A perfect place to eat and drink before getting on your bike. The cycle route starts through the dunes and forests. Then you take a tour along the Oostvoornse Meer. The lake was created by sand extraction and the construction of the Maasvlakte. The bottom of the lake is hard and therefore popular with divers and surfers because of the fantastic visibility. Then you cycle into Oostvoorne.

Stopover: Rockanje
On the Dorpsplein in Rockanje you can enjoy a well-deserved break at restaurant De Jongens. Choose a tasty lunch or coffee with something tasty. Back for ice cream? Here you can find delicious organic ice cream, but also cakes and pastries. And also take home organic Fair Trade chocolate, which is what the chocolaterie is known for.

Through the polder
The last part of the route you cycle through the polders of Voorne-Putten. You cycle through the village of Nieuwenhoorn and historic Brielle, where you catch a glimpse of the fortress. You end the route again at Restaurant Paviljoen De Meidoorn, which is located between Open Air Museum"De Duinhuisjes\\\" and Tenellaplas Visitor Center.
