Walking through National Park Veluwezoom

A walk in the woods is a nice way to freshen up. This route takes you from the edge of Dieren through the Veluwezoom National Park.

Deciduous forest
You walk on winding paths through rolling deciduous and coniferous forests. The deeper you walk into the area, the quieter it gets. When the sun shines, you can see beams of light shining through the foliage: a beautiful picture. With a bit of luck you will see a deer or even red deer. What a beautiful walk here!

Estate Hagenau
Occasionally you walk on wide avenues lined by old beech or oak trees. No wonder, Veluwezoom National Park is partly composed of old country estates. Such as Landgoed Hagenau, which is on your right from Kolonieweg. This estate was purchased by Natuurmonumenten in 1911 and formed the beginning of the establishment of De Veluwezoom, the nature reserve that was declared the first national park in the Netherlands in 1930.
