Description
Cycling for miles through the forests and heathlands of the Veluwe: it is the ideal way to completely relax for a day. This route takes you through the Loenense Bos and over the Veluwezoom.
Loenen Bos
After getting on your bike, you can leisurely ride through the countryside to Eerbeek and Loenen, two picturesque villages. A little later you cycle into the gently sloping Loenense Bos. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fresh air. The extensive forests are briefly interrupted by Hoenderloo, after which you cycle back into nature. What a rest!
The Veluwe Zoom
At listening point L29: Deelen and Diogenes you can hear more about the role of Deelen airport and the enormous Diogenes bunker during the war. Worth the effort! Further afield you can visit Deelen Air Base Museum at the weekend. Then you cycle into De Veluwezoom, the nature reserve that was declared the first national park in the Netherlands in 1930. Here you can enjoy vast heathlands and dense forests. Ideal for recharging the battery.
