Cycling along the Waal from Elst

A day of cycling along the Waal. That means enjoying beautiful old towns and plenty of natural beauty. From picturesque Elst you drive to Bemmel, where you can take a look at country house De Kinkelenburg. A little later you cycle onto the Waaldijk: from this road you have a view of the orchards and the floodplains for many kilometers. You pass Millingen aan de Rijn, further on you drive along the Millingerwaard. You regularly see authentic terp farms in the polder that remind you of the time when dikes offered less security against the rising river water. You cross the river via the Waal Bridge. A good moment to take a look around you at the river landscape and Nijmegen.
