Cycling through Ootmarsum and Oldenzaal

The route starts at Hotel & Restaurant Mössems . Have a drink and something tasty on the terrace before you drive to Ootmarsum: one of the most beautiful towns in Twente. Ootmarsum has managed to retain its historic character. You will automatically switch back here to enjoy the special atmosphere. In the hamlet of Groot-Agelo you can still see some characteristic Saxon farms. Further on you will discover Het Stift, which enjoys a protected village view, partly because of the old Stiftskerk. In the Middle Ages there was a monastery here where, from the fourteenth century onwards, unmarried noble ladies were provided with a good education for a while. Just outside Oldenzaal you drive through the Roderveld. It is refreshingly quiet in the mixed forests of this nature reserve. Cycling in Twente is so wonderful!
