From Leersum across the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

A beautiful route with two distinct aspects. First, you cycle through the vast forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The second section takes you through the polders of the Kromme Rijn region.

National Park
From here, you can drive straight up the rolling Utrechtse Heuvelrug. In this national park, you'll cycle for miles through beautiful nature. Paths lined with stately beech trees and fragrant conifers: it's easy to switch back. You'll also see many stately buildings, such as in Zeist.

Country houses
In the Kromme Rijn region, you'll also thoroughly enjoy the natural beauty and cultural history. You'll pass several country houses, such as Sterkenburg Castle. Some of these houses originally consisted of nothing more than a fortified tower and were only later embellished. The landscape here is primarily one of expansive polders, with occasional glimpses of a small forest. Just like on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, cycling here is also a wonderfully peaceful experience.
