Picturesque Colijnsplaat
Shortly after boarding, you drive into Colijnsplaat. In the Voorstraat you can enjoy the historic atmosphere through the many beautiful monumental buildings. It is then wonderfully peaceful to cycle in the polder with its vast grasslands and agricultural lands. The kilometers seem to pass by themselves here. You regularly see the characteristic image of a straight road lined with tall trees on the horizon. What a beautiful landscape this is!
All Saints Flood
The fifteenth-century church tower in Kortgene is the only medieval building that survived the All Saints Flood of 1532 (which flooded the whole of Noord-Beveland). At Restaurant de Korenbeurs on Landgoed Rijckholt you can stop for a delicious meal on the cozy terrace. On the north side of the island you can see some inlays: pieces of land that once served as an extra buffer for a possible dike breach. These polders consist of wet swamps or reed fields, a beautiful view.
