Description
Roerdalen is a beautiful region in Central Limburg. Here you can once again walk in peace through the varied nature. This route takes you through the area around Vlodrop and Posterholt.
Stir
Just outside Vlodrop you walk to the river basin of the Roer. This tributary of the Maas meanders beautifully through the landscape here. Meadows, fields and deciduous and coniferous forests stretch around you. What a refreshing peace you will find here!
Happiness place
You will also find the typical friendliness of Central Limburg in Posterholt. You can stroll leisurely through the beautiful Hoofdstraat. In the countryside you will pass some old characteristic farms. You will also pass Happiness Spot 24 Roerdalen: The Weeping Willows of the Kerkberg. The chapel in the valley stands under sky-high weeping willows and beech trees. It was destroyed during the Second World War, but rebuilt by local residents.
