Description
As the name of this cycle route suggests, you cycle large parts along the IJssel. According to many, the IJssel is one of the most beautiful rivers in our country with beautiful floodplains, nature reserves and historic Hanseatic cities. The total length of this river is about 125 km and branches off from the Rhine at Westervoort and ends at Kampen in the Ketelmeer. Especially when the sun is shining, it is wonderful to cycle along the water.
The Veluwezoom, located between the iconic hilly landscape of the Veluwe massif and the lower floodplains of the IJssel, has been a great attraction to people for years. Because many wealthy families settled here, there are many castles and estates in this area. When cycling this route you will experience for yourself how beautiful it is in this area between the hilly landscape of the Veluwezoom and the water of the IJssel river.
