ED Strabrechtse Heide and Heeze Castle

On the Strabrechtse Heide you see fens, but in the middle of the nature reserve the heath turns into drifting sand. On the heath you will find the place where the borders of Heeze, Maarheeze, Someren, Lierop and Mierlo used to meet: the Hoenderboom, marked with a border post. You also cycle past Heeze Castle, beautifully embedded in nature. What is special is that the furnishings from the 18th century have remained almost completely intact. The complex consists of a medieval castle and a newer castle from the 17th century, surrounded by a moat. The castle is currently inhabited and weddings are also celebrated there.
