Walking through Ootmarsum and the Springendal

The beautiful old center of Ootmarsum is best admired on foot. The Springendal is a beautiful nature reserve nicknamed 'the Garden of the Netherlands'. You can walk straight into Ootmarsum from Hotel Café Restaurant De Landmarke. You will pass the English Garden, a special park. Then you walk on an unpaved path along the meadows and fields over the rolling Kersberg. Back in Ootmarsum you will find a cozy and historic atmosphere in the old center. One of the eye-catchers is the HH Simon and Judas Church. It originally dates from the thirteenth century and is the only church in the Netherlands built in the Westphalian Roman-Gothic style. The Educatorium Ootmarsum is located in a seventeenth-century half-timbered building. At De Landmarke you can regain your strength with a drink on a terrace.
