Description
A wonderful trip through the Achterhoek country, where you will also visit a nice city. For those who like variety! This route starts at Eetcafé De Groes, in Zelhem. Once on the road you will soon discover the Varsseveldse kopps: fields were planted on the high kopps of the cover sand ridges around Varsseveld that only grew higher due to centuries of deep stable fertilization. Now you will find a small-scale mosaic of high fields, forests and standard orchards. Further on you pass through Terborg, a picturesque town on the Oude IJssel. You drive along the course of this river to Doetinchem, another charming town in the Achterhoek. Back at your starting point you can enjoy a tasty snack, with a bit of luck on the terrace where you overlook the village square.
