Walking along the Maas you will encounter beautiful nature, nice villages - and even real dragons. Discover it with this beautiful varied route!
Maas boulders
At the edge of the woods you will soon pass the Sint-Lambertus chapel from 1845. Before that time there was a hall church here, which was built in the mid-fourteenth century. The Maas boulders that were used for this church can now be seen in the small chapel.
Beesel
From the Maasoever you look out on Kessel. You walk through the orchards along the Huilbeek that flows into the Maas here. In the village center of Beesel you can see a dragon statue that refers to the legend of Saint George and the Dragon. Beesel is the dragon village, the legend of the dragon stabbing is spectacularly performed here every year. You walk back through the woods to De Lommerbergen. Stay overnight, it's so beautiful here!
