Walking along the Maas you will encounter beautiful nature, nice villages - and even real dragons. Discover it with this beautiful varied route!
Maas boulders
At the edge of the forest you will soon pass the St. Lambertus Chapel from 1845. Before that, there was a small hall church here, which was built in the mid-fourteenth century. The Maas boulders that were used for this church can now be seen in the small chapel.
Beesel
From the Maas bank you look out over Kessel. You walk through the orchards along the Huilbeek, which flows into the Maas here. In the village center of Beesel you will see a dragon statue that refers to the legend of Saint George and the Dragon. Beesel is the dragon village, the legend of dragon stabbing is spectacularly performed here every year. You walk back through the woods to De Lommerbergen. Stay the night, it's so beautiful here!
