Cycling route Oldenzaal, Weerselo and Beuningen

Your route starts at Streekrestaurant't Sterrebos. The Twente country seems to be made for cyclists. You can drive for miles here, often without encountering other traffic. Beautiful cycle paths lead you straight through nature reserves such as the Lutterzand. At the Weerselo-Reutum road you will pass a narrow drawbridge: the Reutumse Sluis, a linked lock with an iron drawbridge. You drive through the Dinkel valley into the Lutterzand, where you see sand drifts as well as forests with birches and oaks. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here. Further on in Oldenzaal you will see a beautiful historic building: the nineteenth-century Landhuis De Haer. Further on you will discover Het Stift van Weerselo, where unmarried noble ladies were once provided with a good education. What a varied route!
