The Twente countryside seems to be made for cyclists. You can drive for miles here, often without encountering other traffic. Beautiful cycle paths lead you right through nature reserves such as the Lutterzand. After an overnight stay at the atmospheric historic Bed & Breakfast Erve Deperman near the tourist village of Reutum, you set off. Near the Weerselo-Reutum road you will pass a narrow drawbridge: the Reutumse Sluis, a coupled lock with an iron drawbridge. You drive through the valley of the Dinkel into the Lutterzand, where you see both sand drifts and forests with birch and oak. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here. In Oldenzaal you will see a beautiful historic building further on: the nineteenth-century Landhuis De Haer. Further on you will discover Het Stift van Weerselo, where once unmarried noble ladies were provided with a good education. What a varied route!

Bed & Breakfast Erve Deperman, renovated monumental heritage, is characterized by a very special homely and cozy atmosphere. The rooms are all different, high and spacious, with a private bathroom, a sitting area, a TV and a coffee maker. In the large part you can make your own food, in a fully equipped kitchen. There is enough space to go your own way. It is also pleasant to sit outside on the terrace or under the semi-roofed wagon shed. A closed bicycle shed with sockets for e-bikes completes the picture. In short: a wonderful address for a longer stay!
