Bicycle route Oldenzaal, Weerselo and Beuningen

Your route starts at regional restaurant 't Sterrebos. The Twente countryside seems made for cyclists. You can ride for kilometers here, often without encountering any other traffic. Beautiful cycle paths lead you straight through nature reserves such as the Lutterzand. Near the Weerselo-Reutum road, you pass a narrow drawbridge: the Reutumse Sluis, a coupled lock with an iron drawbridge. You ride through the Dinkel valley into the Lutterzand, where you see both sand drifts and forests of birch and oak. It is wonderfully peaceful cycling here. Further on in Oldenzaal, you see a beautiful historic building: the nineteenth-century Landhuis De Haer. Further along, you discover Het Stift van Weerselo, where unmarried noble ladies were once provided with a good education. What a varied route!
