Veluwezoom
This route takes you from Arnhem through the Veluwezoom, the beautiful escarpment on the southern side of the Veluwe. You cycle here in a rolling region where forests, heathlands, streams and drifting sand areas alternate. You will automatically relax while enjoying this landscape. You will see various impressive estates and buildings. For example, you will pass Doorwerth Castle, a moated castle that was first mentioned in writing in 1260.
Doorwerth
The castle, which was completely restored in 2004, now houses two museums. The oldest robinia in the Netherlands stands in the courtyard, this tree was planted in 1579. Then you discover the beautiful surroundings of Oosterbeek, the village that was so popular with painters in the nineteenth century.
