Description
Put on your walking shoes for a long trip through the countryside of Bleiswijk. In the middle of the Randstad you will find a refreshing mix of waterways, flowery grasslands and tranquility.
Polder mill
The route starts on the edge of Bleiswijk. In the polders the view changes regularly. You will see high Dutch skies, many ditches and flowery grasslands. A wonderful Dutch landscape. Around junction 10 you walk along the path to the Oude or Hoge Polder. An idyllic spot near a polder mill built in 1861, but dismantled in 1918.
Rottemeren
In many places you experience a surprising tranquility. And all while walking through the middle of the Randstad! A great route to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Rottemeren consist of several lakes that are connected to each other. After the reclamation, the surrounding polders started to settle and peat, so that the Rottemeren are now higher than the surrounding landscape. It is wonderful to walk along the banks.
