Description

Cycling through the Green Heart near Bleiswijk is a special experience. You will discover a surprising amount of natural beauty in this densely populated area.

Dutch polder
In the polders, the view changes regularly. The one time you drive at ease between the horticultural greenhouses, one of the most innovative industries in the Netherlands. Then again you cycle along leafy ditches and flowery grasslands, while the clouds float by in the high skies. In short: a typical wonderful Dutch day of cycling.

Rotten Lakes
In Pijnacker you will pass the Tower of Diversloot, a striking work of art from 1996 that stands on a roundabout. From the Lage and Hoge Bergse Bos you come to the Rotte, the peat river to which Rotterdam owes its name. It is wonderfully quiet cycling along this meandering river. The Rottemeren are slightly higher than the surrounding, settled polders: a special view. On the water you pass the Eendrachtsmolen, built in 1727, which drained the Eendragtspolder.
