In the countryside of Enschede it is surprisingly quiet to walk. Put on your walking shoes for a beautiful walk through the farmland.
The Rutbeek
The route starts at Restaurant Hanninkshof in Usselo. Here you can enjoy a coffee with something tasty, before you walk into the countryside with its streams, woods, fields and grasslands. What you will immediately notice: it is wonderfully quiet here! In this authentic farming landscape, of course, the beautiful Saxon farms are not missing, you will come across a number of them. You will also pass Het Rutbeek, a natural recreation area around a sand excavation.
Usselerveld
You can take a break at Restaurant Hanninkshof, before you walk through the fields to the Usselerveld. In the heath and forests of this nature reserve you will find an unprecedented peace. Ideal to recharge the proverbial battery. Wissinks Möl was demolished in 1972, after which the loose parts were stored. After a years-long battle over the reconstruction site, it was rebuilt at its current location in May 1981. In one day.
