Description
North of Zoetermeer you will find a quiet polder area with, among other things, the Zoetermeerse Plas. This area is perfect for a walk to completely clear your head. Sometimes it is wonderful to hear nothing but the sound of the wind and whistling birds.

The edge of Zoetermeer is the starting point of this route. A little further along the route you will find the Stadsmuseum Zoetermeer in't Oude Huis. This museum is located in a former mayor's residence from 1872. Until 1931, this house was inhabited by various mayors. Admire this beautiful building from the outside or step inside to learn more about Zoetermeer. Then you walk along the edge of the Buytenpark into the polders around Zoetermeer. You will pass the hulls of the upper mill and the lower mill Zoetermeersepolder. For years, these mills ensured that the Zoetermeersepolder did not flood.
