Between Zoetermeer, Leiden and Alphen aan den Rijn you cycle right through the beautiful Green Heart. This peat meadow area is full of polder windmills that used to, and sometimes still do, ensure that the landscape does not flood. This route takes you along the typical Dutch sights. You start your journey at the edge of the Zoetermeerse Plas.
