Description
The route departs at junction 12, near Landal Miggelenberg in Hoenderloo. Via the village of Hoenderloo - don't forget to make a stop at IJs van Ko - the route continues, past the entrance of the Hoge Veluwe National Park, to the Hoenderloose Bos.
The forest changes into the Bramberg sand drift and the beautiful Hoog Buurlose Heide. If you are lucky, you will see the flock of sheep at the sheepfold in the idyllic hamlet of Hoog Buurlo or on the heath.
Just past Hoog Buurlo, turn left to Radio Kootwijk. The cathedral building, the former radio station that made contact with the Dutch East Indies, among others, is beautiful to see from the outside alone. Certainly in connection with its location on the heath. To be informed about the visit options and activities in the building, it is recommended to consult the website www.hierradiokootwijk.nl in advance.
Since 2017, a junction has been added beyond Radio Kootwijk (no. 19). There you turn left and at junction 44 back over the Hoog Buurlose heath and Bramberg sand drift. You will experience that driving this section in the opposite direction leads to completely different perspectives. At junction 15 you turn left to return to the starting point through the forest north of Hoenderloo.
