E-bike route Fort near Aalsmeer

From your starting point at Langeraar you immediately drive straight through the Langeraarsche Plassen, an area of peat lakes that were created in the sixteenth century by peat extraction. In the northern part you can see some swamp forests, otherwise it is an open area where many birds feel at home. Get off at Restaurant De Oude School! Then you cycle further to Rijnsaterwoude where you can take a look at the Dekkermolen. Stop at Kunst in de Polder for a visit to the sculpture garden and gallery. The Fort at Aalsmeer from 1894 is part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam. Nearby you will encounter the Westeinderplassen. This area was created by peat extraction, but was never drained. A nice place to enjoy the silence and the boats!
