Walking through the bulb region

From Hillegom you can take a walk through the many bulb fields. That will be enjoying the colourful splendor. With a visit to the Keukenhof as the icing on the cake.

The route starts at Hotel Villa Flora. Have a cup of coffee here before you set off. You will immediately take in some cultural history. For example, you will walk past the old village pump from 1740. You will also pass the Hof van Hillegom. This originally fifteenth-century country estate is now used as a town hall. Further on you will pass the Keukenhof. As an enthusiast, you can indulge yourself here with the many special flowers.

Picturesque Lisse
Further on you walk through the old village centre of Lisse. You pass several beautiful monumental buildings. The HH Engelbewaarderskerk from 1931 was built in a striking neo-Byzantine style. Further on is the Sint-Agathakerk from 1903 with a beautiful adjacent parsonage. In the Lageveense Polder you walk through a landscape of coppice forest and moist, flowery grasslands. You pass the Lageveensemolen, a polder mill from 1890. What a beautiful varied walk!

Please note: Part of this route runs through the grounds of Keukenhof. This park is only accessible from the end of March to mid-May for a fee. The rest of the year you cannot follow this part of the route. Please check the Keukenhof website for the exact opening hours and admission prices.
