A wide circuit around Borne

The base for this route is Het Anker Bar & Food. You will soon pass the Saasveldermolen (or Soaseler Möl as the people of Twente call it), which is located near a small nature reserve around the Molenven. This flour mill dates from 1870. You continue along the edge of Borne. Despite the proximity of the city, you will experience the typical Twente silence here. There are many traditional farms in the countryside. You cross through Hengelo, which, like Enschede, emerged thanks to the textile industry in the nineteenth century. Here you will see, among other things, the old St. Lambertus Basilica. In the picturesque village center of Delden you can admire the fifteenth-century Oude Blasius Church. Just above Delden is the Twickel Estate, a historic country estate.
