From Renesse to Ouddorp

The route starts at De Zeeuwse Stromen, a four-star hotel on the beautiful dunes of Renesse. Along the beach you drive to the Brouwersdam, completed in 1971, the seventh structure of the Delta Works. You can get a breath of fresh air on the dam. Here you have beautiful views of the North Sea and the Grevelingenmeer. Would you like to spot seals? They like to swim on the seaward side of the sluice. To be on the safe side, bring binoculars. On Goerree-Overflakkee you pass the Polder Het West Nieuwland, which was already diked in 1492. In the distance you can see the 56 meter high Lighthouse Westhoofd. Ouddorp is a characteristic Zeeland village. You pass, among other things, the harbor where recordings were made in 2009 for De Storm, a film about the flood disaster.
