A tour of Schouwen-Duiveland

Beach, nature and a rich cultural history: Schouwen-Duiveland is an ideal destination if you want to enjoy a day out. The route starts at De Zeeuwse Stromen in the beautiful dunes of Renesse. A little further on, the cycle path takes you through the Vroongronden, an area with dune grasslands, moist soils and creeks. In Burgh you will pass the former ring rampart that was raised in the ninth century against plundering Normans. Here you get a wonderful glimpse of the past! At Serooskerke you cycle past the Schelphoek and the Prunje, two special nature reserves. In the sparsely populated polders you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the grassy meadows at your leisure. Past the Brouwersdam you drive along the North Sea beach: get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the surf and the view of the sea.
