A tour around Schouwen-Duiveland

Beach, nature and a rich cultural history: Schouwen-Duiveland is an ideal destination if you want to blow away the cobwebs for a day. The route starts at De Zeeuwse Stromen in the beautiful dunes of Renesse. A little further on, the cycle path takes you through the Vroongronden, an area with dune grasslands, wetlands and creeks. In Burgh, you will pass the former ring rampart that was built in the ninth century to protect against marauding Norsemen. Here, you will get a wonderful view of the past! At Serooskerke, you will cycle along the Schelphoek and the Prunje, two special nature reserves. In the sparsely populated polders, you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the grassy meadows at your leisure. Past the Brouwersdam, you will cycle along the North Sea beach: a great way to blow away the cobwebs while enjoying the surf and the view of the sea.
