Explore Almere Buiten on foot

This walk takes you from the Noorderplassen through the Almere Buiten, a green urban district in Almere. A nice way to get acquainted with the urban nature of Almere.

High Speed
The route starts on Schateiland, one of the many nice spots on the water of the Noorderplassen in Almere. Walking along the Trekvogelweg you have a beautiful view of this nature reserve. On the other side flows the Hoge Vaart, a canal that crosses the entire Flevopolder. You cross the Fanny Blankers Koen Sportpark, after which you cross the Lage Vaart to De Bouwmeesterbuurt. Here you will find, among other things, the beautiful Polderpark.

Molenbuurt
The Molenbuurt, this is the oldest neighborhood in Almere Buiten, it was built between 1980 and 1999. All streets are named after type of windmills. After a while you reach the Lage Vaart and you walk the beautiful green route from the beginning of your walk again.
