From Bruges to Zeeland Flanders

Bruges offers you an unforgettable cycling experience against a backdrop of picturesque alleyways, romantic canals, and countless monuments. In the countryside, you cycle through quiet farmlands and polders.

Gentpoort The route starts on the Pandreitje, a beautiful old street in the heart of Bruges. Here you can still see the gatehouse of the prison, which has otherwise been demolished, that is partly from the seventeenth century. Gentpoortstraat dates back to the thirteenth century! At the end of it, you can see the fifteenth-century Gentpoort, one of the four remaining city gates. As you leave Bruges, you drive into a landscape of old forests and fields. The closer you get to the border with the Netherlands, the more vast polders you see.

Kruispoort You briefly cross the Dutch border. Here you drive along De Kruisvest, a wide promenade on the former fortifications. Four old windmills still stand here, such as the Sint-Janshuismolen. At the end stands the fifteenth-century Kruispoort. What a history!
