Kalmthoutse Heide
The route starts with a cozy terrace at Taverne & Tennis Essen. Then you can kick off your legs in the Wildertse Duintjes: a varied nature reserve with forests, open spaces and shrubs. A little later you find yourself in the middle of one of Belgium's natural gems: the vast Kalmthoutse Heide. Step off for a moment and let the tranquility and beautiful views soak in. Wonderful, isn't it?
Putte
Putte is a characteristic border town. In the middle of the village you cross the border into the Netherlands. Find the differences and similarities! You continue cycling through the vast forests of De Zoom. In Huijbergen you will pass the Molen Johanna: a flour mill from 1862. Further on you will cycle a bit through the deciduous forest of the Wouwse Plantage, after which you will drive back into Belgium. Back at Taverne & Tennis Essen you can regain strength with a delicious drink or meal.
