Plateaux-Hageven Natural Park

During my route I did not find a particularly suitable starting point. I started from the end of the Berkheuvels, a side street of the Luiksestraat. At least it's easy to find, but there's no parking or anything like that.

ENVIRONMENT

The route runs on both sides of the Luikerweg. The west side, where the route starts, consists mainly of meadows with a piece of production forest. The crossing to the East Side is a perilous undertaking, on the one hand because the signposts try to make you jump over a ditch, and on the other hand because the alternative forces you to walk a short distance on the very narrow shoulder of this busy 80 road. 

The East side is often straightforward, with long straight roads, but the view and tranquility more than make up for that. The Plateaux nature reserve is a very welcome change. I simply followed the junction signs and that led to a nice zigzag through this beautiful, quiet area. Highly recommended. 

REMARK:

One junction was not visible to me at first because of the vegetation and sometimes the signposts are very poorly visible. See the photos for more clarity...
