Description
You start your walk in Nieuwstadt at't Sjpaorhutje. Nieuwstadt is the perfect base for a walking tour across the German border. It can be that easy to take a trip abroad. The first part of this route takes you from Nieuwstadt to the German towns of Isenbrucht and Havert. On the way to Havert you pass through the Saeffelerbeek valley. At Isenbrucht this stream flows into the Roode Beek. These watercourses are part of the Meuse river basin. From Havert you continue walking to Schalbruch. This village is located at an altitude of approximately 38 meters south of a steep edge of the high terrace of the Meuse. Then you walk through the IJzerenbos back to the Netherlands.
