Walking through Huijbergen and Hoogerheide

The Brabantse Wal is a wonderful place to walk through the woods. You will pass through Kooiheide, an area where nature, recreation and water extraction go hand in hand. A little further on you will see the Johanna, a corn mill from 1862. On the other side of the road is a long-façade farm from the same period. Further on is a gatehouse from 1610, the only remnant of a monastery. The Wilhelmietenmuseum is located in this building, which is well worth a visit. Around junction 92 you will walk over the Kortenhoeff estate, which consists of forest, heathland and fens. On the west side of Hoogerheide you will walk down the Brabantse Wal, into the vast polder. Then you will pass the neo-Gothic Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Hemelvaartkerk from 1888. The route ends with a meal on the terrace at Het Raedthuys.
