Discover the surroundings of the Oosterschelde National Park

The former island of Noord-Beveland is surrounded by the Oosterschelde and the Veerse Meer. This route takes you in a large along the coast of the island. Along the way you cycle through the towns of Kortgene, Geersdijk and Colijnsplaat and further you will find here various sights that are worth seeing.

The Old Mill
In Colijnsplaat you can visit De Oude Molen, which was built here in 1727 to replace an earlier post mill that stood on this site. The mill was used for centuries to grind grain and even now, this mill is still used on a voluntary basis. The mill has been restored over the years to remain operational.

Fortified town of Zierikzee
A pleasant, but certainly also beautiful town. Since 1971 Zierikzee has been a protected cityscape. There are no less than 568 monuments, so take plenty of time to experience the unique historical atmosphere here. The most famous building is the Sint-Lievensmonstertoren from 1506, it looks exactly like the Sint-Romboutstoren in Mechelen.

Oosterschelde National Park
National Park Oosterschelde is officially a National Park since May 8, 2002, located in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The National Park Oosterschelde is the largest national park in the Netherlands. It is approximately 370 km² in size (of which 350 km² outside the dike). You regularly see seals here, very nice to get off and see if they are there.
