Discover the surroundings of Oosterschelde National Park

The former island of Noord-Beveland is surrounded by the Oosterschelde and the Veerse Meer. This route takes you along the coast of the island in a big way. Along the way you cycle through the towns of Kortgene, Geersdijk and Colijnsplaat and you will also find various sights that are worth a visit.

The Old Mill
In Colijnsplaat you can take a look at De Oude Molen, which was built here in 1727 to replace an earlier standard mill that stood on this spot. The mill was used for centuries to grind grain and even now milling is still done on a voluntary basis with this mill. The mill has been restored over the years to remain operational.

Fortified town of Zierikzee
A cozy, but certainly also beautiful town. Since 1971, Zierikzee enjoys a protected cityscape. There are no less than 568 monuments, so take plenty of time to experience the unique historical atmosphere here. The most famous building is the Sint-Lievensmonstertoren from 1506, which bears a striking resemblance to the Sint-Romboutstoren in Mechelen.

Oosterschelde National Park
As of May 8, 2002, Oosterschelde National Park is officially a National Park located in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The Oosterschelde National Park is the largest national park in the Netherlands. It is approximately 370 km² in size (of which 350 km² is outside the dikes). You regularly see seals here, very nice to get off and see if they are there.
