Tour of the Kraaijenberg Lakes

This beautiful route takes you along the Kraaijenbergse Plassen, along the Maas and through Cuijk. You start the route at Camping D'n Driehoek, a beautifully situated and quiet holiday destination. You soon cycle into Beers. Here you see several beautiful old buildings around the Sint-Lambertus church. The church tower dates from the fifteenth century, the rest of the church was restored in the nineteenth century in neo-Gothic style. The Kraaijenbergse Plassen were created around 1968 by the extraction of industrial sand, gravel and clay. Some of the lakes are used for water sports, but your route also includes a newly developed nature reserve that serves as a resting area for water birds. Finally, you pass through the picturesque Cuijk. Here you can see, among other things, the Sint-Martinus church and the tower of its fifteenth-century predecessor.
