Get a breath of fresh air in the Brabant polder

It is nice to get a breath of fresh air in the Brabant polders. You cycle from one village to another over winding dikes. You will also pass through the Liesbos, a former hunting ground of the Lords of Breda.

St. Peter's basilica
You start the route in Klundert. On the southern edge of this village there are still remains of the sixteenth-century defenses. They were part of the Defense Line of the Hollands Diep. You cycle over winding dikes through the vast Brabant sea clay polder. Time to get some fresh air! In Oudenbosch you can see the Basilica of Saints Agatha and Barbara. This building dates from 1880, it is a modest copy of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.

Liesbos
In Hoeven you pass De Toekomst, a beautiful flour mill from 1862. Further on you drive into the picturesque heart of the village of Leur. At the Leurse Harbor you can still see some old warehouses. You then drive through the Green Link, an ecological connecting zone in which a former offshoot of the Liesbos lies. In Zevenbergen you can still see some beautiful old buildings along the harbor that was filled in around 1970.
