Through the Schoorlse Dunes to Alkmaar

You will experience a wonderful cycling day around Alkmaar. You drive through the Schoorlse Duinen and the old city center of Alkmaar. You also cycle through beautiful towns such as Bergen aan Zee, Broek op Langedijk and Schoorl.

Schoorl Dunes
The route starts at Restaurant De Bokkesprong at Hans and Stacey. Grab a terrace here before you cycle into the Schoorlse Duinen. A century ago there was one large sandbox here, now you can enjoy a varied landscape of forest, dunes and heath. In June and July, the many thousands of pine orchids form a white carpet. You also pass through Bergen aan Zee, where you can get a breath of fresh air by the water.

Ouddorperhout
There are no fewer than 399 national monuments in the old city center of Alkmaar! Here you will find a series of canals, old courtyards and centuries-old houses. You will pass the Grote Kerk and the Waaggebouw, among others. On the Hoornse Vaart you will pass four monumental ironing mills from 1630. On the right is the Oudorperhout, a unique meadow area in the middle of the city. In Groet you will pass the famous White Church from 1639.
